Almost 2.5m people watched Mary Portas and her ‘Secret Shopper' programme last Wednesday on Channel 4, which attempted to tackle the allegedly poor service of estate agents.

Whilst the show played to existing stereotypes and was rather cruelly edited, it did contain a powerful and fundamental element of truth.

In essence, it stated that the public want to be able to trust their estate agent, but that the industry and its employees often make it very difficult for that to happen.
